the Cornerstone of our success and a great starting point for any new customer or a regular BBQ’er, this charcoal is made up of a mix of hardwood species. The blend changes, but we are careful to maintain great burning and flavour properties by combining species with complimentary qualities.
This is a great all rounder, and if you are thinking of throwing in raw wood or some such for smoking, this is definitely the one for you, ideal to use with Classic BBQ Fair – steaks, burgers, sausages, chicken and vegetables.

Similar to smoking chips, our 3kg bags of Alder Little Logs are bigger, chunkier (like Jenga® pieces!), and brilliant for smoking your food during grilling – imparting a distinctive smoky flavour. They’re also perfect for Offset Smoker Grills, and even cooking directly on as a live wood fire, for maximum flavour loveliness.
A good all rounder is one of our favourite smoke woods. It goes with just about any barbecue meat. It has a medium smoky flavour that is stronger than apple and cherry, but lighter than hickory. As a result, it mixes well with these three woods, but also works great by itself. An excellent all rounder and don’t forget when the bags empty use it for shopping!
Natural, Odourless long burning firelighters, we swear by these to start our fires. Using this lighter we can guarantee a very clean environmentally friendly BBQ. Firelighters contain natural wood shavings and fully refined paraffin wax and are available in boxes of 24. These are loved by all because they are natural, odourless, easy to light and have a long burn.
